A new plan for Millbrook
The council of Millbrook proposes smart lights, delivery drones and an AI system that plans bus routes.
Each part sounds good. But the lights make data, the data needs storing, the AI needs the data, and the drones need rules. The parts depend on each other.
A support worker must see the links, and then judge: is this good for the town?

Note
I can make a reasoned judgement about the impact of linked technologies on an organisation, a person and society.
Key words
| Word | What it means |
|---|---|
| Machine learning | a program that learns patterns from data |
| Blockchain | a shared record kept in linked blocks that is very hard to change |
| Sensor | a part that measures something, such as heat or movement |
| Interrelationship | the way two things depend on or affect each other |
| Judgement | a decision you reach after weighing the facts |
| Impact | the effect something has |
| Benefit | a good result |
| Harm | a bad result |
| Evidence | facts that support a decision |

Technologies depend on each other
Few technologies work alone.
IoT sensors make data. Storage keeps it. Edge computing handles some of it close by. Machine learning finds patterns. Drones and self-driving vehicles use sensors and AI to move. Blockchain can keep a trusted record of what happened.
One change spreads to the others.
