A day with no signal
Imagine your phone has no signal for a whole day. You cannot pay for lunch by tap. You cannot message friends. The bus app shows nothing. You cannot check the news.
Most of us rely on digital systems all day. That brings big gains. It also brings new problems for society.

3 questionsYour answers are marked here and are not kept. A college account keeps every student’s marks.
Work, jobs and skills
Loss of jobs: automation and AI can do tasks that people did. Shift in skills: new jobs need new skills, such as data and security. Less human decision making: a program may decide who gets a loan. It may also lack empathy: it does not feel what the person feels.
Privacy and behaviour
Privacy: every search, post and purchase adds to your digital footprint. Cameras and tracking can bring surveillance.
Changing behaviour: some people lose face to face skills. Your digital identity may not match who you are.
