Thirty PCs, one office suite
A firm buys a new office suite for 30 PCs. Walking to each one with a memory stick takes two days.
There is a better way. Install it from one shared place, and keep it up to date from the same place.

Installing productivity software
Productivity software is the word processor, spreadsheet and presentation tools. To install it, check three things first: what the PC needs, the licence and the permissions.
Then run the installer, choose the options, and test that the program opens and saves a file.
Network-based installs
In a network install, the installer sits in a shared place, such as a file server or a software store. Each PC fetches the same version from there.
This has three gains. Everyone gets the same version. A technician does not need to visit each PC. And a fix to the package reaches all PCs.
