DS 2.26: Why organisations manage mobile devices

This is the first page of the lesson. Read it and have a go at the activities. The rest is in the full lesson.

55 minutes

A phone left on a train

A salesperson leaves her work phone on a train. It holds customer emails, a contacts list and a login to the company system.

With no control, a stranger now has all of it. With mobile device management, the technician can find the phone, lock it, or wipe it.

MDM does four jobs from one console.

Track and locate devices, so a lost phone can be found. Secure devices with rules like screen locks. Manage use: what apps and features are allowed. Manage configurations: set up the settings below, so each phone is ready to use.
