Build a portfolio of evidence

This is the first page of the lesson. Read it and have a go at the activities. The rest is in the full lesson.

Marks go to what a marker can see

You wrote excellent code. You tested it carefully. But the marker only sees what is in your portfolio.

If the proof is missing, the marker cannot give the marks. The work might be great. The marker cannot know.

Collecting evidence as you go is part of the job.

Weak and strong evidence

WeakStrong
A screenshot with no labelA screenshot named task-2-test-5.png and a line that says what it shows
"I tested it"A test table with the expected and actual results
Code with no historyCommits that show how the code grew
A list of linksLinks with who wrote them, the date, and why they are reliable
AI code with no recordThe prompt, the AI answer, your review and what you changed
One big file with everythingOne folder per task and an index at the front

Your own work

data-callouts.warning.label

The portfolio must show what you did. Do not copy another student's work. Name the source of anything that is not yours, including AI code. Ask your lecturer what you may share and what the rules on own work are.

Your answers are marked here and are not kept. A college account keeps every student’s marks.

Try it: make a clear file name

Code: python
what = "Test Plan"
name = "task-2-" + "-".join(what.lower().split()) + ".pdf"
print(name)

# split() cuts the text into words. "-".join puts a dash (-) between them.
# Change what to "Bug Report" and run it again.

A portfolio folder, one task at a time
