Plan your time and your risks

This is the first page of the lesson. Read it and have a go at the activities. The rest is in the full lesson.

45 minutes

Eight jobs, eight hours

You have 8 hours for the whole practice project. You have 8 jobs.

If you spend 4 hours on the first job, what happens to the rest? Many students run out of time and never finish the build.

A plan stops this. It takes 30 minutes and saves hours.

Try it: minutes to hours

Code: python
total = 420
hours = total // 60
minutes = total % 60
print(hours, "hours and", minutes, "minutes")

# // gives the whole hours.
# % gives the minutes left over.
# Change 420 to 435 and run it again.

Always leave spare time

data-callouts.tip.label

Most jobs take more time than you think. Keep some spare minutes at the end. A plan with no spare time is a plan that fails at the first problem.
